The Country through Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), which is mandated to organize and host meetings and provide incentives for conferences and exhibitions in Kenya, has won bids to host Ecotourism and Sustainable Conference (ESTC) 2013, Deaf Nation Africa Expo 2014 and Italy organized Expo East Afripack 2014 Expo. The KICC is still defending bids to host other conferences and expos of the same statute whose bids have already been submitted.
The events will boost the country’s economy through multiplier effect of money accruing to Kenya’s GDP.
Conference delegates are usually high end with a delegate spend of approximately USD 160 per day yet they spend a minimum of six days per conference or expo.
With approximately 1800 international delegates, the events are therefore expected to inject to the economy Ksh. 146.9M apart from giving the country an opportunity to showcase its magical Kenya experience.

This partnership will bring new processing and packaging technologies closer to industries, particularly small and medium scale enterprises in East Africa. It will also help analyse the current situation of different technologies in the field of processing and packaging in the EAC Partner States and identify potential opportunities for industrial development. The event marks a major milestone in addressing one of the key challenges of the agro-processing, pharmaceuticals and other strategic sectors of our industrial policy. It is anticipate that a good number of companies, including SMEs will have the opportunity to access appropriate packaging and processing technologies.
